Our Most Holy Redeemer

Grade II* Listed church and former Institute Building in Exmouth Market London. The church was designed by John Dando Sedding, modelled on Brunelleschi’s Santo Spirito in an Italian Renaissance style and build in 1887-1888. The Institute Building, now the Exmouth market Centre, is also Grade II* Listed and was added by Wilson in 1916.

Various schemes for remodelling and improving the church and Exmouth market Centre have been undertaken. These include a new glazed eso-narthex and administration office and new furnishings and kitchen facilities. The Studio is currently engaged to oversee the remodelling of the All Souls’ and Mortuary Chapels to include the provision of a columbarium and garden of remembrance, together with ancillary improvements for WC and escape facilities. Faculty approval for alterations to the Mortuary Chapel and Institute has been granted and preliminary support from the Diocesan Advisory Committee obtained for all All Souls’ Chapel. The Studio has also recently been appointed to oversee the repair and redevelopment of Exmouth Market Centre.

This project was led by Matthew Swinhoe, director of ZRP, whilst at Hutchinson Studio Architects.
