St. James School

This two classroom block is a proposed extension to a primary school. Using the ZoomRoom System we are able to reduce the cost of the new block significantly, which means more money can be spent improving the rest of the school, as inevitably more classrooms means more facilities are required elsewhere. The unimposing form of the new block is integrated with the existing fabric of the school.

Timber overclad profiled steel composite panels, with a small brick plinth below. The steel structure and roof extend from the primary envelope to create a sheltered exterior space. Brightly coloured window frames are extruded from the main fabric to provide a space within the classrooms to sit overlooking the playground.
