Contemporary steel-framed doors and partitions, both internally and externally, have been introduced to enhance the openness of the compact interior and connect the living space with the garden. A simple, refined palette, featuring soft-toned, natural wood finishes for the flooring, bespoke joinery and feature wall cladding which elegantly wraps around the spine wall and open plan staircase, creates a sophisticated, cohesive, and nourishing space.

To increase the available day light and further connect the interior spaces to the outside, a large roof light was aligned with the new external steel doors to elevate this composition and invite ample natural light into the interior. These doors complement the internal glazed partitions which replace the separating wall to the previously cramped kitchen space.

To achieve the open plan layout and ensure the future loft extension is fully compliant with all relevant legislation, with a particular focus on fire safety an integrated, automated fire suppression system has also been designed and installed.

Looking ahead to phase two, designs for a loft extension that will maximize the available space within the property have also been developed. This extension will provide an additional bedroom and ensuite, catering to the evolving needs of our clients and will compliment the work now complete at ground level.
